On Wednesday 10th January, the council of the IKUC held its 7th session for the academic year of 2017-2018. It was headed by the dean Asst. Prof. Ghani Al-Khagani (PhD) in the presence of the dean Assistant for the Administrative Affairs, the dean Assistant for the Students’ Affairs and Registration, the College Council Secretariat, and other council members such as the dean assistants in the provincial campuses and the heads of the academic departments.
The dean assistant in Thi Qar Campus Mr. Wesam Al-Zuhairi welcomed all attendees, especially the dean, and thanked them for accepting the meeting invitation which is considered to be a support for the college campus in Thi Qar. Then, a report was presented about the work flow at this campus and the requirements to be fulfilled, in particular the establishment of Media and Public Relations Section.
The council approved a number of decisions, the most important of which is the approval of the promotion committee meeting minutes which includes the promotion of two teaching staff members.
Moreover, a number of matters concerning the postgraduate students and their exams were also discussed along with the students’ postponements for the academic year 2017-2018. In the end, the council chairman thanked the dean assistant in Thi Qar Campus and all other esteemed council members.
In the second day in Thi Qar Province, a journey was made to Al-Chibaesh Marshes for the nature sightseeing. After that, the council members visited the Martyr’s Monument which embodied the crimes of the former regime.
